Four Ways to Drink &Fermenta: Water, Almond Milk, Soy Milk and Hot Chocolate

&Fermenta リッチカカオのパッケージと、ホットで作ったカカオドリンク

&Fermenta Rich Cacao tastes noticeably different depending on what you mix it with. Here are four ways to enjoy it, from everyday water to a slightly indulgent almond milk, to a hot chocolate for cold days.

&Fermenta Rich Cacao as a cold protein shake and a hot cacao drink

The basic method

  1. Pour 300ml of water or another drink into a shaker
  2. Add 35g of powder (two heaped scoops with the included scoop)
  3. Close the lid firmly and shake well

Adding the liquid first and the powder second helps stop powder clumping at the bottom. &Fermenta contains no thickeners or emulsifiers, so it can feel slightly powdery. If that bothers you, try shaking a little longer than usual.

You can adjust the strength to taste: about 250ml for a richer drink, or about 350ml for a lighter one.

1. Water: the easiest way

Start with water. It's the way to taste the cacao, cinnamon and ginger most clearly.

Made with water, one serving has 143.5kcal and 21.1g of protein (per 35g). All you need is water and a shaker, so it's easy to make on the go.

2. Almond milk: smoother and rounder

This is the way we recommend on the product page. The toasty flavour of almond adds a smooth, cocoa-like richness.

If you don't want extra sweetness, choose unsweetened almond milk. Made with chilled almond milk, it tastes almost like a dessert.

3. Soy milk: for a fuller flavour

Soy milk gives a fuller, richer taste. It suits mornings when you want something more substantial with breakfast.

Soy milk is made from soybeans, so avoid it if you have a soy allergy. The &Fermenta powder itself contains no soy ingredients, but mixing it with soy milk makes a drink that contains soy.

4. Hot water: make a hot chocolate

On cold days, or when you want to unwind in the evening, try it as a hot chocolate. The cinnamon and ginger aromas come through more strongly when it's warm.

How to make the hot chocolate

  1. Add 1 scoop (about 17.5g) of &Fermenta Rich Cacao powder to a cup
  2. Pour in 150ml of hot water, or warm milk of your choice
  3. Stir, and enjoy a moment of pure bliss

If you use hot water, add a splash of your favourite milk to bring the temperature down before drinking. One scoop gives about 10.5g of protein.

⚠️ Never shake hot drinks in a shaker. Pressure inside can force the lid off and cause burns. When drinking it hot, mix it in a cup with a spoon.

Which should you choose?

Mix with Best for
Water Quick and easy, anywhere. Tasting the flavours as they are
Almond milk A smoother, slightly dessert-like drink
Soy milk Mornings when you want more richness (avoid if allergic to soy)
Hot water (hot chocolate) Cold days and evening breaks

The same pouch can feel quite different just by changing how you drink it. One 350g pouch makes about 10 servings, so try a few and find your favourite.
